How old do I need to be to rent a car in Madeira Island?
You only need to be 18 and have a valid driver’s license to rent a car in Madeira Island with Vanscape, but people 25 or younger pay a young driver’s tax.
What documents do I need to rent a car in Madeira Island?
You’ll need a valid driver’s license, A passport number or ID, a credit card for the deposit if you don’t choose SCDW insurance and a license to have fun.
Can I rent a car without a credit card?
Yes, but you have to choose the SCDW insurance.
What types of insurance do you offer, and do I need them?
We offer Basic insurance, Intermediate Collision Damage Waiver (ICDW) and Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW). The value of the deposit and liability cover vary depending on the car category.
What's the fuel policy?
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel that they had on the delivery date, unless you choose the “full tank” extra. The missing fuel will be charged to the customer plus a penalty.
Can I return the car at a different location?
Yes, you can.
What is the cancellation policy?
The customer can cancel the reservation up to 48 hours before the pick-up time free of charge. If you cancel between 48h and 24h before the pick-up time, the first three days of the reservation will be charged. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, the entire reservation will be charged
How are tolls and traffic violations handled?
Any fines or costs that can occur from traffic violations are the clientes responsibility.
Can I add an additional driver?
Yes, you can.
What if the car breaks down or has an issue?
You need to contact someone from Vanscape team immediately so we can assess the situation.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, we provide child seats and booster seats as an extra.
What happens if I want to return the car outsider office hours?
We operate 24h. If you pick up or drop off the car out of office hours, there’s a fee you need to pay.
Is smoking allowed in rental cars?
No.
How do I extend my rental period?
You just have to contact someone from our team to check availability and then we take care of the extension process.
